Every time I see someone doggedly running down one of our many gorgeous local trails, I'm struck by the stunning moments missed in the name of getting somewhere fast, or burning calories, or sticking unyieldingly to a strict fitness regimen.
Balance is the key. Work your body, but work your senses and awareness, too. Stepping off of the trail and slowing down long enough to note the mathematical precision to be found in the swirling heart of a daisy keeps your sense of wonder nicely honed and toned.
